2. Inventory

Inventory management documentation

Inventory is the entity responsible for controlling the amount products that will be available for a given Delivery Center.

In BEES there are some flexibility in aspect to how the customers will view an item based on its inventory. The two methods mostly used are described below:

Adjusting Type:

  • Adjusting type refers to when a customer will obey the inventory configured for a product and is not able to purchase above the limit nor purchasing products that are out of stock.

Messaging Type:

  • Messaging type allows customers to purchase products above the limit available in the inventory as well as purchasing products that are out of stock. A message appears warning the customer that they are purchasing a product that is out of stock.

Below, the examples dictates the Inventory Adjusting Type and the Inventory entity will be covered in more details.

It is important to notice that BEES does not automatically deduct inventory quantities once an order is placed. The responsibility is from the partner to always populate the current inventory for it to be reflect accurately in BEES Application.
